In the children's department of the Rostov hospital, the stay of the little patients has become more interesting because new equipment and toys were purchased for the play area thanks to the agreement on cultural cooperation between Rostov (Russia) and Bernburg (Germany), which was signed earlier.
In 2020, the children's paintings contest "All professions are necessary, all professions are important" was held in the two cities. This year was completely different compared to previous years and the profession of Doctor has become almost the most important profession. Working conditions, under which doctors had to work in all countries, were the reason why the organizers chose this topic for the contest and suggested to the children to consider in which professions it is still necessary to wear protective suits, masks and other protective equipment. Based on the results of the paintings contest, in which more than 300 children participated, a calendar for the year 2021 was also produced.
The play facilities that were recently purchased for the hospital are therefore designed to enable children to "play professions", i.e. mechatronics technician, carpenter, cook, salesman, teacher and, of course, doctor. The children's play area "Sun City" was named "Nesnajka in the Sun City" after a story of the same name, where every inhabitant also practiced a profession.
The "Sun City" is not the first joint project of the charitable Saint Dimitrij Rostowski Foundation and the German-Russian company Erdgasspeicher Peissen GmbH. In 2018 and 2019 the Children's playgrounds were built in the park areas in the two cities of Rostov and Bernburg.
The children's play area "Sun City" was sponsored in 2020 by the German-Russian joint Venture Erdgasspeichen Peissen GmbH, the operator of the underground gas storage Katharina in Germany, with the help of the charitable Saint Dimitrij Rostowski Foundation. The project was carried out within the framework of the agreement on cultural cooperation between the cities of Rostov Velikiy (Russia) and Bernburg (Germany) as well as the German-Russian competition for children's art "Rostov-Bernburg. All professions are necessary, all professions are important", implemented.
